With the world pandemic keeping us from experiencing trail running in ways we’re used to—perhaps exploring favorite or new trails, or traveling to races near and far—some of us might be missing our usual doses of adventure and inspiration.
This Friday, May 1, at 5:30pm PST, Rainshadow Running’s Trail Running Film Festival is showing a live-stream, two-hour virtual edition. In years past, the festival has taken place over three days in Seattle, Washington, followed by a select reel of films touring theaters across the country. For a $10 fee (part of which will go to the YWCA COVID-19 Relief Fund), subscribers will be able to stream the festival online from their homes, and hopefully, feel a sense of community among others watching.
Films on the docket reportedly range from humorous to historic, about speedsters to distance warriors, and in locations from the Sierra Mountains to Australia.
“Our hope is that by gathering our community across the country, the Virtual Edition of the Trail Running Film Festival will be a rejuvenating, inspiring, and much needed fostering of the trail running spirit,” says Trail Film Fest founder James Varner.
