Celebrating its 70th year, Finnish whimsical-pattern mastermind Marimekko is collaborating with activewear powerhouse Adidas to add fashion to function in a more sustainable way this summer. According to promotional materials, the collection is made from “new materials, including recycled yarns, and methods to help reduce environmental impact.” Fortunately, the reduction in environmental impact doesn’t compromise this collaboration’s visual impact or functionality. The Adidas x Marimekko collection features two of Marimekko’s signature patterns — Annika Rimala’s Laine and Maija Louekari’s Räsymatto — which bring life to Adidas’s signature activewear silhouettes.

Starting June 1, the collection will be available at select Adidas and Marimekko stores, as well as other retailers across the globe.
