Juicing simply means taking out the fiber and drinking only the juice of fruits & vegetables. Why do you want to remove the fiber? Isn’t fiber good for us? Of course! Fiber creates a bulkiness which is very good for keeping the digestive tract flowing, but it is also this bulkiness that can interfere with mineral absorption. The body spends a lot of energy digesting fiber. During a cleanse, you want the body’s energy to be concentrated on healing, flushing out toxins, and on absorbing the greatest amount of nutrients that you can. Fresh juices, from produce that is safe to consume raw, is a wonderful way to get a fast infusion of easy to digest, phytonutrients and colloidal minerals. It is also highly alkalizing to the body and will gently detox the gut.
